The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is looking for a Web Designer in our External Engagement and Community Development (EECC) Division. This position will report to a manager and work independently on interactive charts, partnering with content providers to upload content, and other needs as they arise.

  • Take static information submitted by economists and other contributors in Excel, and turning these into interactive charts (familiarity with JS libraries for Highcharts, D3 or similar)
  • inform the standard for charts from an accessibility, brand and UX lens.
  • Produce HTML pages for publications
  • Assist with wireframing and prototyping (Adobe XD or similar tool)
  • Create web design systems with components (buttons, cards, accordions, etc.) and templates
  • Create static and/or animated or interactive infographics or social microcontent
  • Create animations for use on web or social media video and motion graphics
  • Assist with misc asks, such as PPT slide design and graphics
  • Consult with the internet and intranet teams to create webpages


What do you need?

  • Bachelors in computer science, Information Systems, Graphic Design or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience
  • 5+ years participating in user experience design/research using a variety of research methods.
  • 5+ years prototyping experience and demonstrated proficiency with designer tools in the Adobe Creative Suite or like applications
  • Ability to assist in creation and maintenance of style guides, design system library files and brand standards
  • Portfolio that demonstrates modern design practices, processes and applicable case studies
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS/SCSS

Salary: $ 91,000 - $ 104,000
