Security & Privacy in Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Luddy School

Job Summary

The Student Writer works closely with Security & Privacy in Informatics, Computing, and Engineering (SPICE) Project Manager.
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Maintains and updates SPICE related websites including center website, affiliated research websites.
  • Activities will include regular updates to a shared publication GitHub, website maintainer, updates to existing pages for ADA accessibility compliance, and implementing redesigns to sites as needed.
  • Coordinates with the project manager and maintain an update schedule via shared schedules.
  • Attends team and project meetings.


Qualifications

EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a full time IU student with a 3.0 GPA.
Preferred
  • Students with 2 years of college in English, journalism, fine arts or related fields
  • Enrolled for an advanced degree student in informatics or computer science.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • Research experience in Informatics or Computer Science.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS
Required
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities needed: Ability to work with shell scripts; CSS and Git experience required. (WordPress experience preferred).
  • Ability to maintain professional standards of language, with appropriate grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member. Able to build and maintain rapport with faculty, staff, students, representatives, and community. Able to work flexible hours.
  • Willingness to maintain professional standards of language and behavior in all content.
Preferred
  • Excellence in technical communication.

Advertised Salary

$15 per hour for undergraduate students, $20 per hour for graduate students

Work Hours

10-15 hours a week
